Chris has a deep understanding of the challenges pertaining to technology transfer at HEIs. We worked together on many strategic projects, including a DST funded project to develop an incubator strategy for CPUT, as well as a technology transfer project funded by the EU. With all these projects Chris’ ability to facilitate workshops, thinking strategically and putting together high level documents made it a great pleasure working with him.

Chris Lombard is a highly competent facilitator with valuable experience in using the visual mapping tool ‘Participlan’. He is also in the fortunate position to have applied the theory developed in a tertiary educational environment into practice, which makes him an important contributor in any collaborative engagement.Peter Thomas
Thank you for the professional manner in which you facilitated the session which dealt with spin-off of a university company. Your methods were well directed at extracting the golden thread between the expectations of the various stakeholders. This was extremely helpful in generating a common vision and goal.
Your ability to get people to engage with the issues and to come up with meaningful solutions is a credit. The insights that I and the other stakeholders received from the workshop were very good.
I would also commend you that your facilitation sessions are outcome related rather than simple brain storming exercises. This ensures that value is generated. You most certainly exceeded my expectations in what I thought could be achieved by this process.Dr Revel Iyer
Dr Chris Lombard facilitated the strategic planning workshop of the South African Academic Accounting Association of which I was president during 2013. The planning workshop was conducted in such a professional way as evidenced in the growth of the leadership team in the years since who are still working to the blueprint and action plan developed
His facilitation sessions, including session conducted for the CPUT Faculty of Commerce and The School of Accounting Sciences are always to the point, very relevant, systematically presented and always lead to logic conclusions. This is evidenced in the excellent feedback received from staff and colleagues.

Dr. Lombard has been the South African coordinator of the EU funded Erasmus+ Capacity Building project EMISHA. As well as being a member of the Management Committee, Dr. Lombard has been instrumental in structuring the project within the South African context. Straight at the beginning of EMISHA, Dr. Lombard facilitated a three day meeting session which set the tone for the project. The facilitation method, expertly conducted by Dr. Lombard, ensured that all partners were active in setting the goals and objectives of the consortium and became the framework of the successful collaboration.

We have used Dr Lombard’s facilitation services on many occasions to facilitate in our strategy planning sessions. Our problems cover a range from fairly simple to relatively complex, spanning middle and upper management. I am impressed by his ability to understand the issues and convey them in a logical and simple manner that goes beyond the ParticiPlan method. Using his skills, I am happy to say that we have always reached a convergence with a well-laid out report stating our objectives, outcomes and accountability clearly.Rene Pellissier (PhD, MBA, MSc)
Dr Chris Lombard is academically well qualified having a MBA besides his PhD and has many years of university experience. He has held various positions at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). Over the last few years he has been my Business Manager in the Technology Transfer Office and reported directly to me as the CPUT Director of Technology Transfer and Industrial Linkages. He has performed exceptionally well, especially helping the TTO to grow its commercially ready patented invention product range. He was a main contributor towards making the CPUT Innovation Showcase a great success which was lauded by the media as one of the best innovation events held by a university in South Africa. He is also an excellent experienced facilitator and because of his presentation and interpersonal skills, acumen, depth of perception and discernment is often requested to facilitate workshops requiring meaningful outputs helping leaders and managers to move their work situations in a new direction. He is a sincere and an energetic person and will always give his very best to any assignment given to him. I strongly recommend him and wish him well for his new venture.Prof Dr Gary Atkinson-Hope
